How painting made me a better Photographer, and photography made me a better painter.

I believe that all the arts are related to one another. Drawing, color theory, color mixing, techniques, materials are all part of painting. Just as planning, color management, composition, post editing, and equipment are important to photography.

Creating art is an innate passion that needs practice and dedication to flourish. That is where photography facilitates the creation of painting. By photographing material that can be used as reference material to be painted, photography provides as many ideas as we want to shoot.

On the other hand, photographing concepts with painting in mind can make us better photographers by pushing us out of our comfort zones into more than taking mere images. We become engaged in the quest to create art.

Here is the process with this still life and the painting I created from it.
